There are some outstanding artisan hot sauce products out there
on the market today, and I enjoy many of them, but I also enjoy making my own hot sauce, depending
on what I'm in the mood
for or
on what
meals I may be
planning in the upcoming
week.

I know I talk about
meal planning all the time, but it really does help me to stay accountable, makes
for less chaotic mornings when I go to pack my lunch, saves money each
week (since I go
on ONE big grocery haul making sure to only get what I need
for that
week) and I'm staying healthy in the process.

I create a

week (nothing worse than waking up in the morning and thinking «oh no what
on earth am I going to pack
for lunch?»).
Depending
on the number of people involved, you can
plan to have hot
meals dropped off either nightly or every few days
for the first couple of
weeks postpartum.
Enlist a friend to solicit people who
plan on helping with
meals or use
meal scheduling websites so you know you are covered
for dinners
for at least the first
week.
After a few
weeks of parties, rich desserts, fried appys and eating
on the road, it's nice to get back to
planning healthy
meals for the whole family and also get any weight loss
plans back
on track!
(1) Get up and walk; (2) don't
plan on anything other than small light
meals the first 24 hours afterwards; (3) take stool softener; (4) bring flip - flops; (5) use the nursery; (6) bring the number of a lactation consultant who can visit you in the hospital if you
plan to nurse; (7) try to line up 1:1 adult to baby
for the first few
weeks, especially late afternoon and early evening.

I generally choose a day (when I'm running low
on fresh foods) and decide what I want to cook and eat
for the
week (using the above guidelines)-- make a list based
on the recipes or
plan I come up with, and then grocery shop,
meal prep and stock up my fridge

week all in about 2.5 hours.
