walls for any length of time if at all --

As happy as Murray was to be among the few female artists whose work was regularly shown at the

The jargon used
on gallery and
museum walls,
for instance, has long induced eye rolls, even as the art establishment still clings to such practices
for validation or even as an intentional weeding out of «less sophisticated» audiences.
As an encyclopedic
museum, there are always a variety of exhibitions, but the current offerings are especially rich: The James Turrell retrospective
on view through April 6 beats out last year's Guggenheim show
for breadth of offerings and the survey «Calder and Abstraction» boasts exhibition design by Frank Gehry that includes curved
walls that cast those mobiles and stabiles in a whole new light.

Using humor, satire, and perturbation to comment
on serious problems that effect the art world at large, Andrea Fraser has helped create a dialogue around systemic issues, paving the way
for groups like W.A.G.E. (established in 2008) that advocates
for a more equitable distribution of the art world's economy (i.e. fair wages
for artists), and Occupy
Museums, an activist group that sprung from the Occupy
Wall Street Movement and that made an instillation about artist's debt at the 2017 Whitney Biennial.
For starters, Cincinnati Swing, by Austrian artist Erwin Redl, features animated LEDs suspended from 160 pendula
on the
museum's 107 - foot - high back
wall.

For him, the medium of drawing is not limited to an image carrier, but is instead a technique that he uses to trigger a performance - based process — in the public space, as well as
