Hi, I plan on painting my kitchen table with Annie Sloan chalk paint, and then was going to use AS dark wax to age it a little, AS clear wax on top.

Thanks, I used the wax on my coffee table a couple of weeks ago, still have plenty of the Johnson's wax.Now my kitchen chairs look like they need changing, think I'm in trouble:) Love the outcome though with this chalk paint mix.Thanks again for sharing, also going to do your roller shade idea, bought the fabric just haven't found the time to do them.Susie

The oil base primer keeps the cabinets from yellowing later on because it seals in the old color / stain color and lessens the risk of the paint chipping off later.You don't «have to» prime with chalk paint, but I would not recommend skipping oil base primer when painting kitchen cabinets.
