I guess for my purposes, there are a couple of big considerations: (1) I want to choose an approach which,
when it all sorts out, becomes the «standard» approach for commercial nonfiction eBooks; and (2) «useability» or «readability» of the end result
on the various
eReader platforms.

Since you can really only read Kindle books
on the Kindle (unless I have missed something) people will go to who has the most robust library
when purchasing an
ereader.
Now, I do miss a side turn button
on the 13 ″, I admit that, and I do like that Netronix is lighter, but the quality of the readers I got from
Ereader Store and their service has proven to be great, they even compensated me
on and extra pen
when it got lost by the post.
It took me a long time to finally decide
on which
eReader I wanted, and
when I made my choice, Kindle was not one of them.

They have a wishlist
on their desktop app for Mac, but that wishlist doesn't exist
on any other platform I know of (iOS, their main website, and their online
eReader - site), and you can only add books to it from the main screen of the desktop app for some reason, but not
when you look at the page of a specific book.
* Sigh * You have no idea how many readers stock up
on free and cheap, then grouse

The problems start
when we look at the other qualities an
eReader should have (the ones that aren't deal breakers but will still have an impact
on the overall experience).

on the solar panels so that they're in the dark while you're using the
ereader, and then you open the cover
when you want to charge it?
Personally I prefer the higher - quality design and the larger 7.8 - inch screen
on the Kobo Aura One, so the 2nd gen H2O never really clicked for me, but it's still a nice device in its own right and provides a solid alternative to all the 6 - inch
ereaders available
on the market — more choices is always a good thing, especilly
when it comes to ebook readers.

when using it like an
ereader with WiFi off most of the time, and 1 week per charge
when using it more like a tablet with WiFi

eReaders, this sort of madness was somewhat understandable — Why take a risk
on a new market that you have no control over?
There are some good reasons for Amazon to stay focused
on the Kindle — The Kindle Tablet can't hit the $ 100 or even the $ 200 mark, hardcore readers want dedicated
eReaders, LCD can't touch eInk
when it comes to battery life or readability, 80 % of book sales are to 20 % of the people buying books and those people want dedicated reading devices.
Although keen readers are already well catered for
on Android with the brilliant Aldiko, many people were understandably excited
when Amazon announced that it would be bringing its Kindle
eReader software to Google's mobile platform.
