The government would be better off focusing
on teacher retention rather than recruitment, according to two
new reports
With problems around
teacher retention high
on the agenda at the moment, I'm hoping this
new focus
on effective professional development will go some way towards stemming the flow of
teachers leaving the profession.
The report goes
on to say that the government and National College for Teaching and Leadership should create a 10 - year - plan to improve «both the supply of
new and
retention of existing
teachers», which should be published before the end of the school summer this year.
