public... Some examples: 1) the passenger
in front of us
on our first flight, whom when my daughter was crying while we waited to take off and I said something aloud such as «I'll
nurse her once we take off and then she'll be quiet», had to tell everyone around us that she was a

nurse my baby during takeoff (sorry lady, but the reason I bought her a seat was for her to be
in her car seat during takeoff as it's much safer than
in my arms

on the first few occasions, concerned about the reaction from their friends, the
public, and business owners alike.

I think women are becoming more comfortable
in telling others that they are still
nursing older babies so hopefully there will be a shift
in attitudes but I have recently «lost» a few facebook followers after posting a status regarding full - term breastfeeding (I think they were most likely from a giveaway I did ages ago and not
on the same page re: bf etc) Apart from that, I love telling Mums
on the ward (I'm a bf peer supporter) I'm still feeding as it opens their mind to that possibility and I think I look pretty normal so it mostly doesn't freak them out My son is far too busy to
nurse out and about and prefers juice so we've not
nursed in public (apart from support group) since he was 18 mths and that was as I had a blocked duct!
And although these celebrity moms may have the benefit of professional stylists and photographers
on hand, their message is the same as any mom's — breastfeeding is totally normal, and you shouldn't be ashamed to
nurse in public.
I don't
nurse her
in public because I feel uncomfortable to do so... it's more because its such a relaxing and special time for us it's best done cuddled up
on the couch!
One more observation
on nursing mothers — soem manage to
nurse in public with no one noticing.
And, lucky for them, celebrity moms are sharing their
nursing moments
on social media as a way to raise awareness and remove the stigma of breastfeeding
in public.
Though there are many different kinds of
nursing covers
on the market, they are all intended to make moms (and others) feel more comfortable when
nursing in public.

It's not that she became more comfortable

in a shopping mall or
in a restaurant booth, she emphasizes, it's that she made herself comfortable: «It's not easy to
nurse in public except for women who make it acceptable to themselves.
If you thought getting glares while discreetly breastfeeding your newborn under a
nursing cover, huddled
in a tiny crowded space, was uncomfortable, try
nursing an active two - year - old
on a
public park bench; or better yet, imagine the judgment you'd get if you announced you were going to
nurse your adopted African baby for the first time... at age three.
It's not uncommon to be
in a restaurant,
on a plane, or
in another
public place when a baby begins to fuss and the mother brings her child to her chest and starts to
nurse.
To start, you'll need a supportive pillow so that the baby is right at breast height for
nursings and if you're modest about

Nursing moms have a right to feed their children anywhere they and their children are allowed to be, and they don't need to cover up or feed
in a nasty
public bathroom just to spare busybodies the trouble of keeping their eyes
on their own affairs.

nursing in public and breastfeeding throughout the night.
We know it's not going to help towards larger world issues
in life but we do hope that through the power of photography and social sharing, this campaign can make a positive change
on the perspective
on breastfeeding, quell negativity but most importantly, boost body confidence & empower more mums to breastfeed
in public with ease &
nurse in style whilst feeling great doing so!
