I'm making over my living room this week (I know, crazy week to even think about it) and would totally use this somewhere
on my olive green walls.
In the five part series, Untitled (Treatise on Melancholia)(1989), Schnabel paints
on olive green tarpaulin, a material traditionally used by the military, and first sourced by the artist in 1985 while he worked in Mexico.
These were done for an exhibition at an old monastery, the Cuartel de Carmen in Seville; 24 paintings
on olive green tarpaulin he found in Mexico.
The beige color contributes to a muddy overall palette, dependent
on olive green, eggplant and midnight blue, with the occasional streak of a brighter hue.

There are several flavors of Sabra hummus that would work in this recipe (roasted red pepper, roasted garlic and spinach and artichoke spring to mind), but the
Olive Tapenade Hummus, studded with
green and kalamata
olives, seemed like the natural choice since I had Greek flavors
on the brain.
We always make the same combo pizza — red onion,
green pepper, mushroom, pineapple, and black
olives with a little bit of FYH jack cheese sprinkled
on top.
If serving as a salad, arrange cubes
on a bed of
greens and drizzle with
olive oil and balsamic reduction.
For a savory snack, try hummus
on toast with sliced red pepper, a little chopped
green onion, toasted sunflower seeds, a drizzle of
olive oil, and a dash of salt and pepper.
I removed the seeds to prevent it from going «mushy», then added a giant
green olive chopped up, and snipped some dill — dill and cucumber are great together, and the dill adds a freshness when it's tipped out (the bottom ends up
on the top).

Oh, I need a little twist
on my
green beans - they've been steamed with a bit of
olive oil every day around here.
My
Green Olive Meatloaf is a staple meal, and has developed out of a re-creation attempt
on my part.
3 frozen chicken breasts
on bottom, 1 cup uncooked quinoa, 2 cups water, I just used like a coleslaw mix (white and purple cabbage and carrots) 1.5 cups of it, 1 cup fresh cut up broccoli, 2 stalks
green onions, and then the sauce
on top (1/3 cup
olive oil, 1/2 cup franks hot sauce, 1 tsp seasoned salt whisked together)
First time around I got the Grilled Tempeh & Aubergine Salad, which came
on a tasty base of salad
greens, shredded raw vegetables and fruit, with orange - miso dressing and warm Ciabatta bread with
olive oil.
Juicy bits of orange, grapefruit, lemon and lime form the base of this vibrant salsa;
green -
olive tapenade and sliced red onion add extra zestiness, which makes this salsa so good
on everything from fish to avocado.
Feel free to add
green peppers, onions,
olives — whatever you like
on your pizza!
Just blend up those herbs with some lime or lemon, garlic, a little spice, salt and
olive oil to make a sauce that's good
on greens, grains, beans... anything which could do with a bit of jazzing up.
Roasted Root Vegetable Bread Salad Extra-Virgin
Olive Oil 3 - 4 medium beets 2 medium / large yams, peeled and sliced 3/4 ″ thick 2 leeks, washed and sliced
on a bias into 1/2 ″ thick pieces favorite day - old bread (we used Essential Bakery's Rosemary Diamante), cut into 1 ″ cubes mixed salad

green onions, chopped 3/4 teaspoons fine - grain sea salt 1 cup / 6.5 oz / 185 g quinoa, well rinsed and drained 2 cups water 1/4 cup / 1 oz / 30g dried currants 1 lemon 2 sm - med zucchini, grated
on box grater 4 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds 4 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
Ingredients: 8 medium ripe tomatoes, I used a combination including San Marzanos / 2 medium red onions, chopped / At least 6 cloves of garlic, minced / Parmigiano - reggiano cheese rinds — scrape away the waxy residue / 1 cup fresh cranberry beans, shelled / 4 cups water / 6 new potatoes, cut into rounds / 2 small zucchinis, cut into slices / 1 bunch swiss chard, stems chopped, leaves chopped / Big handful
green beans, cut into pieces / Basil leaves /
Olive oil / Salt & pepper / Freshly grated parmigiano cheese / Burrata cheese (optional, but I had some
on hand).
Place the salad
greens on a serving dish and arrange the zucchini, avocado, and
olives on top of the
greens.

on a baguette with black

green onions with sliced avocados and a side salad.
I toss these
on top of some wilted
greens, risotto, slices of avocado, or (if it's a Sunday) buttered toast — Your carrot / harissa salad, with feta and mint, or some variation of shredded veggies and this same general dressing (broccoli stems, cabbage, etc)-- Lots of salads with lemon / garlic /
olive oil vinaigrette, feta, almonds or nuts.

On the other hand, if you sauté your dark leafy
greens in a little coconut oil, organic butter, or
olive oil (some of the best, natural fats), you will be better able to absorb the vitamin K it contains.
Ingredients: 3 medium potatoes cut into cubes (keep the skin

olive oil Salt and pepper to taste For a vegetarian option add 2 hard - boiled eggs Method: Steam or boil the potatoes, carrots,
green beans and
green peas until soft.
Lay the
greens on a plate & drizzle with the remaining lemon juice and extra virgin
olive oil.
Heat a wok
on the stove and sautée the
greens in a bit of
olive oil until they start to wilt.
I like to use raw
green beans, cut
on the slant, with cherry tomatoes, and a drained can of black
olives, a bit of garlic or minced onion and
olive oil and lime juice.
