We grow a full line of
seasonal produce with a focus
on specialty sweet & hot peppers and Italian
vegetables like fennel, broccoli rabe and radicchio.
So starting off the New Year
on the right foot, today I wanted to share with you a healthy,
seasonal salad of boiled root
vegetables with a simple garlic mustard vinaigrette dressing.
Fill two bowls with half of the rice, greens, beans and
seasonal vegetables, and then pour the dressing
on top to taste.
Pumpkins **, squashes and beta carotene riddled root
vegetables are piled in perfect pyramids in produce sections and headlining
on seasonal menus everywhere.
Inspired both by my childhood in Suffolk and my years as a pastry chef, the recipes in it embrace the full range of amazing ingredients I've discovered since I started baking and focus
on the wonderful tastes and textures offered by whole, nutritious flours, natural sweeteners, good fats and oils, nuts and grains,
seasonal fruits and
vegetables and many more wonderful, natural ingredients.
I know that we're deep into October now and all of our attention is
on pumpkins (not eggplant) but I wanted to use the last of my
seasonal harvest
vegetables to make this spicy roasted
vegetable hash.

on traditional items like a healthy «Egg McMuffin;» a Breakfast Burrito, wrapped in a house - made almond flour tortilla and filled with scrambled eggs, jalapeno, red onions, «cheddar» wiz, and smothered with JBK's pork or veggie green chili; and a Veggie Hash using
seasonal vegetables and power - green pesto.
An aromatic broth with oodles of noodles, plenty of char - grilled
seasonal vegetables and some tofu is pretty much what the doctor has ordered at this time of the year when the weather is still a bit
on the temperamental side.
Hit up your farmers markets in the lead up to Christmas and stock up

vegetables, or visit co-ops locally to purchase organic nuts, seeds and dried foods in quantities you need.
Since
vegetables are
seasonal, and this entire recipe relies
on fresh
vegetables, the stellar recipe I made in April can taste very blah come October.
So when the chap from Riverford tucked a box of
seasonal jewels near my garden with a wrapper l
on it and I saw it as I arrived home, my boy and turned our glances away from the wilting flowers and drying rose bushes to grab it and see because we have learned after a few deliveries that the quality of the fruit and
vegetables we get is absolutely outstanding.

vegetables; children will love the bright colors and flavors.

Over the years, we've gone astray from eating local farm - fresh produce,
seasonal fruits and
vegetables, whole farmed grains and pasture raised animals
on a consistent basis.
Making a Paleo shift is all about clean eating the way our ancestors ate with an emphasis
on seasonal, fresh
vegetables and fruits, nuts and seeds, healthy fats and naturally reared, wild caught game / meats, poultry and fish.
I definitely try to focus
on seasonal eating and I'm growing quite a lot of
vegetables in my garden this summer too.
Our bodies work much better
on protein and fat which provide a steady energy source which we get from meats,
vegetables,
seasonal fruit, nuts and seeds.
Entreés like the Green Burrito include curried garbanzo paté,
seasonal vegetables, marinated mushrooms, sprouts, and sunflower seeds, wrapped in a collard leaf and served with salsa, guacamole, and mixed greens
