When Lincoln
started on solid foods last year, I thought I had this whole
food thing down pat.
Start by breaking down your cacao
solids, you ca do this using a grating attachment with your
food processor or just simply place in a ziplock back, push all of the air out, cover with a tea towel and go to town
on it with a rolling pin — I mean really give it a
solid beating, don't be shy!
Sam was
starting to eat
solid food and I was making homemade babyfood from the fresh veggies we live
on.
So, you breastfed all of them exclusively for 1 year (yes, many doctors argue that you should not give any
solids for the entire first year if life), only fed organic
foods after you let them
start feeding themselves at 1 year, never offered baby cereals, don't put anything in plastic, wore your baby every minute of every day, co-slept or didn't co-sleep, depending
on who you asked, don't allow your children to sleep
on commercially produced mattresses, don't use any Johnson's products, etc. etc. etc.?
I feel that I've been pretty in line with this advice since
starting solids and at almost age three he seems to have dropped more
foods than he has added
on his «will eat» list in the past year.
Even if you
start solids right at four months and take introducing things
on a faster track by doing veggies first followed by fruits, you won't have introduced all of the basic
foods before 6 months anyway.
hi i m mahek.my problem is that my son is almost 6 months old.his birth wait was 3 kgs.i had to
start him formula milk as i felt my milk was not being enough for him.now that Alhamdulillah he is six months i have
started giving him
solid foods also.but now he is really giving me a hard time while taking bottle feed.as i read milk is very essential for the baby in the first year i wanted to feed him milk as far as possible but he takes only 90 ml milk that too only twice a day but
on the pack the quantity of milk per feed is 180 ml.he takes my milk very happily but it will not be enough.i am worried as i can not give him
solid food everytime when he is hungry as it is causing constipation to him.pls if anyone can answer.jazakallah.thanks.

start him
on solids next weekend (rice cereal) b» cos he is very interested in our
food when we eat.
Depending
on your baby's age, you should
start to notice signs that he or she is getting to the right developmental stage to
start trying
solid foods.
Past 6 months of birth, babies are expected to
start on some more
solid foods, and the mother will have less of a chance to use LAM.

What we've forgotten as a society is that the rationale for «first
foods» being purees and cereals is a throwback to when babies were
started on solids at, like, 3 weeks old.
My husband and I are holding off
starting her
on solid foods until she's six months from the pediatrician's advice.
Tide to Go or other stain remover (optional)- once baby has
started solid foods, treating
food stains early can make your laundry efforts easy later
on!
Babies that
start on solid foods earlier than they should often
start associating
food with comfort (instead of associating contact with mom with comfort) from a very early age.

Either way, if you're thinking about

started making your own baby
food when it's time to
start solids.
So rather than we (the parents) setting arbitrary
starting dates for introducing
solids, and pushing «mush» (as they call it)
on our little ones, it makes more sense to put «real»
food in front of baby and let him take care of the rest.
Back in the old days, it was the norm to
start on solid food for a baby after he was only a few weeks old.
Now that you've
started your baby
on solid foods, you're probably realizing that you have a few choices: you can either buy your baby's pureed
food at the grocery store, or you can make it yourself.
Hi, My son
started early
on solid foods at 4.5 months since he wasn't gaining enough weight.
I was so excited to
start her
on solids because I can control that and I can give her the BEST
food.
Therefore I
started to look for homemade formula but I didn't find the information about if a formula would be necessary to her if my milk dries out as she is already
on solid foods.
At your baby's 4 or 6 month checkup, your doctor may discuss

Since your milk takes
on the various flavors you eat, your baby may acquire a taste to a wider variety of
foods before
starting solids.
A baby might show the first signs of celiac disease shortly after
starting on solid foods such as cereals.
Mine also did that for awhile so I took her off of the pureed
food and put her
on finger
foods and she
started eating more and more
solid food.
