on the
Misuse of Drugs is effectively being dismantled by the psychoactive
substances bill - leaving drug policy now entirely evidence - free.
The act created the Advisory Council
on the
Misuse of Drugs, which became responsible for distinguishing three separate classes of controlled
substances, referred to as Class A, Class B and Class C drugs.

Harm Reduction Therapy is a form of treating
substance misuse that expands the traditional «disease concept» model to one that allows for an individualized approach based
on the needs of each patient.
In order to identify those at risk for developing a mental illness, this study will target personality risk factors, including hopelessness, anxiety sensitivity, impulsivity and sensation seeking, which have been shown to reliably predict
substance misuse, anxiety, emotional and behavioural disorders in young people.23 24 It is hypothesised that the intervention cognitive training programme (focusing
on executive functioning) will be more effective than the active control cognitive training programme (focusing
on cognitive abilities other than executive functioning) in reducing psychopathology.
Caregiving Youth are children and adolescents who are 18 years of age or younger and who provide significant or substantial assistance, often
on a regular basis, to relatives or household members who need help because of physical or mental illness, disability, frailty associated with aging,
substance misuse, or other condition.
The assessment is manualised, standardised and uses structured interviews, self - report measures and observations.10 An intervention will then be tailored for every family, drawing
on a small range of relationship - based therapeutic techniques all of which comply with the recommendations of a meta - analysis that examined ways of improving parental sensitivity.50 Parents will also be referred as required to other agencies for help with
substance misuse, mental health issues or intrafamilial violence.
The same group then undertook a developmental group psychotherapy programme designed to focus
on the multiple clinical problems typical in this population (depression, experience of abuse, behavioural disorder,
substance misuse, poor self esteem and body image, and family conflict and disruption) and to combine effectively with other interventions (pharmacotherapy, individual and family therapies) using a group therapy format that was cost - effective of clinician time.
