The news comes from Droid Life, whose sources, other than corroborating the two codenames above, also mentioned that Google is allegedly working
on a third device, codenamed «
taimen».

taimen» will be a possible tablet or tablet - like phone, though all of this is still a rumor, and nothing in the AOSP code reveals what kind of product «
taimen» will be, save the fact that it will run
on the Qualcomm SoC.
The source says that the headphone jack is absent
on this iteration of the device, but it should be available
on the larger
taimen device.
That puts into question the expectation that the Google
taimen will run
on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835.
For another, one of those three, codenamed «
taimen» has shown up
on Geekbench bearing underwhelming numbers.
Given those numbers and the clock speed, there is a distinct chance that the Google
taimen is running
on a mid-range processor, something like the Snapdragon 653.
Its namesake salmon makes its home in Siberia and Mongolia and typically weighs in at about the size of a muskie, though it's rumored that the screen
on «
taimen» will be even bigger than that of the two others mentioned.
