If you've been sitting
on the sidelines for a while now — whether in terms of writing / finishing your
book or ramping up your
book marketing efforts — the good news is that it's never too late to get started.

on podcasts can easily become one of the single most effective

But when it comes to
marketing and promoting, it seems we've taken one paradigm — the old school «traditional publisher buys your

book, you sink or swim
on their
efforts» — and are now insisting that everyone must follow the new paradigm — where we are all platform building, paradigm shifting, self publishing, networking machines.
During one of the last big kerfuffles, wherein Amazon tried to push around a number of small POD publishers into making them use their own in - house print service (Angela Hoy and Booklocker fought back
on that one and won) many of the other indy authors that I was hanging out with as part of our
on - line support group) tried to put more of our
efforts into
marketing our
books through Barnes & Noble, and to Borders.
While Amazon isn't clear
on how many of these 100 million are actual readers, you may have more borrows in Select without a lot of promotional
efforts than you would have if you went wide with your
books and did the same low - level
marketing.
And like your other
book marketing efforts, be sure your logo (if you have one), social account links, and URL are included
on all the video you produce.
This was informative and not intimidating (I'm an introvert too:) I will use this plan as the results of my last
marketing efforts (gave away a free
book, did little teasers
on Twitter) didn't impress me much.
