I am an amateur photographer, but through this process of learning how to cook, I discovered that I really love
taking food photos.
Whether you're just starting out or looking for ways to improve, it's the all in one resource that can help you take

When I first started this food blog, I thought to myself that I would just focus on writing well; but I struggled terribly with taking
good food photos.
The picture above is of one of my very first
food photos from back in 2004 when I started this crazy hobby of food photography.
And the photos were lovely... in my book, a
great food photo makes you want to reach in and grab a bit.
I was a very bad and drunk blogger (those cocktails were AMAZING) who did not take as many
food photos as he should have.
As food bloggers, it's not just important to show our readers how delicious our food is — nice
food photos make for great content!
I'd love for you to submit one of your beautiful photos, and a link to your post, to my new vegetarian

Or, maybe you just want a personal website that you can share with close family and friends, to showcase your

I also have a zoom lens but this 50 mm 1.4 lens is my favorite for creating drool -
worthy food photos.

I have a big collection of
food photos going back about twenty years and I have no idea where I saved them from.
This was a beautiful blog full of amazing recipes and
stunning food photos - and the most decadent truffles and cupcake ideas - but this blog is no longer with us.
You just made my day because I changed my header a couple of weeks ago, and the new one is my own design and all my
own food photos.
And you take lovely
food photos too, but I find it hard to believe it's so easy.
I totally understand that and did the same myself but, now I don't shoot
food photos without it.

Still delicious, but shame on me for assuming a food company would have
honest food photos.
We're looking for interesting, striking and even
amusing food photos to inspire others to get behind the campaign.
I take
food photos almost every day, but not everything makes it onto my blog because I do a lot of client work that I can't always share for confidentiality reasons.
But if pictures of burgers can sell meaty meals, maybe fresh fruit and
veggie food photos can play a part in the campaign for healthier kids.
Keep in mind that these are just tips to help you create better
travel food photos, and are not meant to be strict guidelines for you to follow.
