Ongoing medical monitoring is needed to assess the efficacy of the medication and to check for possible side effects such as
sleeping difficulties, decreased appetite, increased blood pressure and heart rate.
Thus, extant research suggests that peer relationships may be either risks for or buffers against
sleep difficulties in adolescence, and uncovering the processes underlying either of these is an important area for
ongoing research.
