As we've previously discussed in
our ongoing teacher diversity series, there is credible evidence that minority teachers can boost a range of minority student outcomes, yet minorities are underrepresented among the population of public school teachers.
What follows is a description of The
Diversity and Technology Project, a Freirian approach to virtual field experiences cultivated through
ongoing relationships with
teachers working in an inner city elementary school, populated by students of low socioeconomic status, in East Chicago, Indiana.
