Ours are very similar, only I prefer smoked paprika, a smidge of cheddar, and
onion powder instead of garlic.
If I have to cut back on the onions for some friends and family then I use organic granulated onion /
onion powder instead.
In this recipe I used
onion powder instead of onions because I just didn't like the texture of the cooked onions for this.

onion and minced garlic to the sauce after it's blended

I made this, but
instead I made them savory by using some paprika, a little chili
powder, fresh minced / diced jalepenos, and green
onions!
The main difference in terms of ingredients is that we used fresh garlic and fried
onions instead of the
powdered ones used in the original recipes, and that I also made my own barbecue sauce.

I used white rice
instead of brown, because it was what I had on hand... I also chopped up and added 1/2 of a sweet potato, which I cooked with the
onions at the beginning, and some tumeric and curry
powder.
I did use real
onion instead of the
powdered version and used 3 cups of beans.
My wife is vegetarian so I will try this with Morningstar Farms crumbles

Great recipe, put all the ingredients in and added two cloves of garlic, 1 teaspoon basil, teaspoon parsley, two teaspoons of black pepper
powder,
instead of tomato puree i used passata, teaspoon of
onion powder and beef mince, it was well appreciated by my teenage daughter who is a fussy eater, thanks for this recipe:)

powder, you can use your favourite herbs, caraway or just skip it.
