The PS2 jumped out of the gate with the promise of online gaming and while there were some games that had begun to toy with the feature through the use of a ethernet adapter that also let you use dial - up, it was games like the Socom series, Madden, and Final Fantasy XI that helped bring the vision of
online gaming front and center to it's user base.

Sony needs to realize that this generation of consoles and the people who are buying into the ps3 that
online gaming and it's psn / Home service matter a hell of a lot more than last gen and at this stage the Playstation is behind it's competitor on the
online front I am a happy ps3 owner but can see why some refuse to buy into it just yet, however i think millions of potential ps3 owners are just biding there time and will come flocking to the system once a price of around # 299 is reached.
Online multiplayer is great and everything, but there's nothing quite like
gaming together with friends who are there with you in person, or competing in
front of a cheering crowd.
On the
gaming front, I can still be found in the EVE -
Online universe, ridding the galaxy of bad guys, one pirate at a time.
I don't understand how, when digital is becoming the dominant way to purchase games, when Sony is the top dog in console
gaming, you can not make your store
