Not
only would 75,000 Hyatt
Gold Passport points be enough for a weekend at any Hyatt in the world it would also be enough for a long weekend at any Hyatt Category 6 property too.
Instead I received «
only» 10,000
Gold Passport points, plus another 500 for playing a little game to remember the order in which I stayed at each one.
It occurred to me that, as Hyatt got over 10,000 requests for the recent status match, I'm possibly not the
only one relatively new to the Hyatt
Gold Passport program — so I thought I'd share where I found the more useful information and the answers to the questions I still had after I'd finished reading what I could find on the web.
Loyalty Lobby shared yesterday that a promotion through December 15, 2015, will offer a bonus 12,000
Gold Passport points when you stay 5 nights or more at these hotels (the Zilara Cancun is the
only exclusion):
First of all you can
only purchase 55,000 Hyatt
Gold Passport Points (excluding bonuses) per year and that's not even enough for 2 nights at one of these super-high-end hotels.
With this new rule change by Hyatt, and while the
Gold Passport program insists on
only issuing the suite upgrades on 1 March and not upon renewal of status, Diamond Suite Upgrades will become a lot less useful for those planing spring / Easter vacations.
A reminder that per Hyatt
Gold Passport terms, you may
only purchase maximum 55,000 points per calendar year.
In the past I have always been able to get Southwest points AND Hyatt
Gold Passport points for each stay at Mlife, but YMMV as technically you are
only supposed to get one or the other.

Gold Passport say elite credit is
only applicable for one room even though member may earn points on up to three rooms per stay.
Only the room occupied by the member will count toward tier status, current Hyatt
Gold Passport promotions and receive program benefits and services.

Gold Passport Platinum and Diamond members, which was for cash
only, not points.
There's no issue with that (
