the only example of this phenomenon.

As a figure
of a much more general
phenomenon and as an
example of its most extreme form let us consider Carlo Levi's description
of the religious life
of a village in southern Italy in which he lived for a year, a life so alien that he considers it not
only pre-Christian but in a sense pre-religious.
Earthquakes and hurricanes are
only two
examples of a plethora
of physical
phenomena that are well understood by science today, and which had religious / supernatural explanations in ages past.
I will use
only one
example of this
phenomenon.
This applies, for
example, to entanglement, a quantum physical
phenomenon that can be observed between atoms or photons (light particles): when two
of these particles are entangled, the physical state
of the two particles can no longer be described independently,
only the total system that both particles form together.
Although many
examples of the trend isolated in this exhibition were executed during the 1970s, it has
only been in the context
of the 1980s that the
phenomenon itself has become visible.
Whether or not Inhofe is a real
example of the
phenomenon (and joking aside), I can
only presume that human - influenced climate change will continue to be doubted for the same reasons that evolution is doubted and, indeed, for the same reason that some people still doubt the earth is round and goes around the sun.
Knowing that the
phenomenon is periodic, is one
example of such helpful knowledge, but certainly not the
only way
of justifying some assumptions about the errors.
After all, as anyone who studies the climate issue with an open mind knows, the Arctic
example is
only one
of hundreds
of perfectly natural
phenomena that consensus climate science blames on human - caused global warming.
This
phenomenon can occur in regard
of the subjects both in my areas
of expertise, and also in areas
of significance outside
of my expertise; an
example,
only a few days ago, being the publication
of the identification
of the mechanism
of cardiac death
of individuals during defaecation due to use
of the Valsalva manoeuvre: a factor in possible alternate explanations
of death due to stimulant drug abuse.
