When the astronomical revolution of the sixteenth century — in which the Italian philosophers of the Renaissance
played a far
more important role than historians of science admit — removed the universal cosmic clock, there were two alternative ways open to physics and philosophy of nature: either to retain the relational theory of
time and to hold with Bruno (Bruno 1879, p. 144) that «there are as many
times as there are the stars» (tot tempora quot astra), since there is no body possessing a privileged rotation motion, and the
only body which allegedly had it — the sphere of the fixed stars — has been swept away; or to save the unity and homogeneity of
time by separating it from any particular motion — and this is what Newton did, anticipated in this respect by Isaac Barrow and, in particular, Gassendi.

This is another stupid article, do u knw hw many
times wenger has made dis same mistake, how does a manager with
more than 20 years of experience go into a season wth
only 2 senior CB, dis injuries are no mistake, you

It's difficult to blame Ozil for the difficulties he's faced at Arsenal without looking at the big picture... like the fans, he too was lied to by Wenger... there is no doubt in my mind that he was told by Wenger that he was trying desperately to recreate our earlier success by acquiring players that fit the system he ran when Henry was in his prime... as we know this hasn't happened... in order for Ozl to flourish he needs some speed up front, forwards that can make intelligent runs, a boss in the midfield to compensate for his obvious defensive liabilities and defenders who can transition from defence to offence quickly and efficiently... much like he had in Real and with the German National squad... unfortunately he ended up on a squad that has a striker who
plays with his back to goal, very few intelligent runs into the box, minus Sanchez, no one to take pressure off him in the midfield, once Cazorla was injured, average defensive midfielders around him, which simply highlighted his lacking defensive qualities and defenders who lack the necessary cutting edge when it comes to transitional passing... instead of blaming Ozil, which is simply too easy, especially considering his mopey disposition, we should be asking ownership and / or Wenger why they brought him in if they didn't intend on doing what was necessary to get the best from him... can you imagine Ozil
playing with the likes of Henry, Viera, Petit and Pires, it would be incredibly to watch and even
more difficult to stop... so the
only thing different between his experiences in Real and with the German team versus his
time at Arsenal are the players around him and we all know who is in charge of making those decisions, the Grinch who stole soccer

Besides several teams who have questions surrounding one or possibly two players, there is no squad that has so many issues heading into the final week of the transfer window... even Monaco, who have lost numerous players from their starting 11 have less controversy swirling in and around their club and they have champion's league
play to contend with this season... just think of how ridiculous this situation is especially considering that we have had the same manager for over 20 years... no team should be better organized than ours... if nothing else, that should be the one advantage this team holds over all others, yet the exact opposite has occurred... this fact is even
more disturbing considering the main argument against removing Wenger from his managerial position was that there was no suitable replacement and that people feared some sort of perceived drop - off if a new manager was brought into the mix... based on what we've witnessed since the
time of his contract renewal a monkey with a magic eight ball could have done an adequate job... I hate to make jokes, in light of our current dilemma, but this team is so screwed up if I don't laugh about it, the
only plausible response is to either cry or do something incredibly destructive... just look around this squad and try to see what our delusional manager sees that allow him to make such positive statements about our current team
Giroud reminds me a bit of Dimitar Berbatov, as a matter of fact I am wholeheartedly convinced Giroud is Berbatov in disguise, because he is the
only striker I have witnessed who can go
more than two months without a goal and finish amongst the top 3 strikers in the Premier League, completely similar in style, both very classy finishers, brilliant hold up
play they are also both lazy as hell and occasionally turn up in random clusters of games which 80 percent of the
time are worthless in the hopes of winning any silverware, but do just about enough to convince you that they are better than they are.
Up front we have a few world - class players surrounded by some serious pretenders... Sanchez is by far the most accomplished player in our attack but the controversy surrounding his contractual mishandling could see him go before the window closes or most definitely by season's end... obviously a mistake by both parties involved, as Sanchez's exploits have never been
more on display than in North London, but the club's irresponsible wage structure and lack of real intent have been the real undoing in this mess... Lacazette, who I think has some world - class skills as a front man, will
only be as good as the players and system around him, which is troubling due to our current roster and Wenger's love of sideways passing... Walcott should have been sold years ago, enough said, and Welbeck should never have been brought in from the get - go... both of these players have suffered numerous injuries over their respective careers and neither are good enough to overcome such difficulties: not to mention, they both are below average first - touch players, which should be the baseline test for any player coming to a Wenger - led Arsenal team... Perez should have been
played wide left or never purchased at all; what a huge waste of
time and money, which is ridiculous considering our penny pinching ways and the fact that fans had been clamoring for a real striker for years... finally Giroud, the fact that he stills wears the jersey is a direct indictment of this club's failure to get things right... this isn't necessarily an attack on Giroud because I think he has some highly valued skills, but not for a team that has struggled to take their sideways soccer to the next level, as his presence slows their game even
more, combined with our average, at best, finishing skills... far too often those in charge have either settled or chosen half - measures and ultimately it is us that suffer because no matter what happens Wenger, Gazidis and Kroenke will always make
more money whereas we will always be the ones paying for their mistakes... so every
time someone suggests we should just shut - up and support the team just think of all the sacrifices you've made along the way and simply reply... f *** off
He must not
play every game; he should
only feature in the big games where his skills and experiences are needed and that way, we can have a fresh Cazorla, who will spend
more time on the pitch and lesser
time on the treatment table.
I get your point. But it won't help us if we're
playing in 3 back and some of our players are being
played out of position. Our success of 3 back last season was
more of mentality than due to the formation. The formation seemed to renew the mind of players and they started
playing better.Little did people realize that we always go back to our old ways
only to put up a strong surge in the end. We'll do well for a while when we go back to 4 back because our players will again change their mentality then after some
time we'll go back to our old ways.
Let's face it goalkeepers tend to march to the beat of a different drum and Szczesny certainly fell into that category, but most of his antics were relatively harmless and simply reflected a certain level of immaturity that isn't uncommon for someone thrust into the limelight at such a young age... lord knows we've seen that happen with numerous players throughout the years and very few were ever banished for such behaviour... the
only on - field action that drove me crazy was his inability to take a deep breath and not try to rush the
play with an ill -
timed throw at certain points in the game when common sense suggested holding the ball and slowing things down... the fact that he continued to do this probably had a lot to do with the glaring lack of coaching
time spent with the goalkeepers... ultimately he made the fateful decision to take his frustrations out into the public sphere and paid dearly for it... in the end, his services were wanted by several of the best Italian squads, which is significant considering the historical importance placed on the defensive side of the ball in Serie A... all I know is that if someone asked me to pick the most athletically gifted goalkeeper we have had in our squad since the arrival of Wenger, without hesitation, he would be my pick and for that reason his departure is
more than a little disappointing... what else is new though
Ozil is a luxury that Arsenal really can't afford. The
only time he tends to shine is when the whole team is
playing to the best of their ability... which is... as we know... not often enough. This being the case it would benefit the team to sell him to Barcelona for the reported # 50million and bring someone else in instead.Such a player would undoubtedly have less talent but in all liklihood would be able to perform on a
more consistent basis.
it's
time for this club to put it's money where it's mouth is... no
more half measures, no
more settling, no
more making money hand - over-fist with little to show for it, no
more excuses and no
more hiding behind the idea that this is «small» club that can't compete with the «big boys»... the
only real difference between them and us is what the manager demands and what the owner is willing to give... we
play in the League with the richest tv contract in Europe, we have one of the largest home venues with some of the highest ticket prices on the continent, we have several major corporate sponsors, we have one of the largest fan bases in the World whom purchase a ridiculous amount of merchandise, we rake in coin on tour each and every preseason and we have banked countless millions from qualifying for and participating in various competitions at home and abroad
Jack and Rosicky are
more direct, take
more risks, and at
times this season Sanchez seemed the
only playing willing to run at players and back himself to beat his man when our passing game was effectively being stifled.
The
only thing which makes our team unbalanced is
playing the luxury item we bought called ozil.I thought he would need
time to adjust to physicality of premier league so i supported him, but the guy hasn't improved he tries to dribble past ppl but runs into them somehow, tries to do showboating at unnecessary
time which he fails to do miserably. And i see him giving too many back passes when he should drive forward. And the biggest reason i stopped liking him as a player is bcoz of his sulky attitude. No passion or drive for the club, as if he wanted to be at some other club and is just doing the job without his heart in it.He neeeds to be placed on the bench and make him work hard to retain his place.Ramsey and coq in middle with ox and sanchez on both wing and cazorla as cam will make us a
more balanced midfield.
mates its
time we say hard truths and stand by them.we want arsenal to win the title not arsen so spending is not an issue.this season we hve seen how our squad is of average quality
only three or four world class players.is wenger the man to take us the next level.someone who drops joel and picks Walcott who is currently
playing like an amateur.our midfield is shocking we keep passing the ball backwards till we concede is when we st art shifting gears.we need
more urgency from both the players and manager.play the same way everyweek and expect a win.its
time arsenal moves on we need new man at the helm to lead the club.
Holding the
only positive this season, mustafi and xhaka simply average we should rip the black cats into shreds they are
only playing for pride just like us.The black cats reached their 9th life this season no
more survival in the epl Arsenal 3:0 Sunderland,
time to scout Pickford they have a better striker than arsenals Giroud in Defoe going to championship
neither arteta nor flamini is good enough to
play for arsenal per mertasacker should be our 4th choice cb he can
play well against less technical
more physical teams like stoke but he is not good enough in big games we need 1 - 2 cdm's / cb's what will happen in jan
only time will tell
Whether or not he ends up
playing in the number 10 role
more often as his career progresses or stays in his
more usual wide forward position
only time will tell, but I certainly think that he is learning a lot from
playing with the brilliant German on a weekly basis.
Unlike many I'm not scared at all if he leaves. You know why?Because I've seen better players leave the club and seen where we ended up.He's very good and world class but not as good as many think.Forget stats for a moment and look at his quality.I also hope the mistake of keeping Mr. Hold up at the club would not be made. Here at Arsenal we compromise a lot and we always ignore the cracks until it's too late.Wait till Lacazette goes for a three or four month injury. Then we'll know we never learn.I hope Bellerin doesn't make this mistake of leaving Arsenal. He has so so much to learn. His game still lacks that something. He needs to know how to maximise his potentials and be consistent. That will
only come with
more playing time and patience.Arsene should not even think of letting him go as we will have to spend money on a RB and besides we need him.
the
only way this squad can win title is if wenger is willing to be
more flexible with formation,
play players in there actual positions, do subs at
times reasonable to still impact games and for him to be able to motivate these players in a way that they are hungry - theyve lost alot of that hunger
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of
play has become a shadow of it's former self,
only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and
play» mentality where players
play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have
only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance
play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted
play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was
playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the
more confident Xhaka I watched
played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball
play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he
played with Coq Wenger always seemed to
play Francis in a
more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong
times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been
played out of position far too many
times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so
only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at
times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get
played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the
time invested... to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and
only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten
more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's
time to focus on the head instead of the heart for now
In the case of Holding i would really like to see
more of him, because the few
times i have seem him he has been good with some little errors and can
only get better with
more games while he is not
playing i hope he puts in some work at the gym.
This is actually
more than the teenager has
played for his club, where he has
only appeared 11
times and never completed a full 90 minutes.
And how many
more times are Arsenal going to continue having awful half's, and why do we
only start
playing once we're deep in trouble, on the verge of defeat?
In short: Our defence wasn't the
only train wreck, Gabby actually
played half decent and we need to be giving
more game
time all round.
Nacho is
playing well at the moment because he has had a decent run of games and will
only get better if he continues, gibbs may have better pace, but monreal wins in other departments, the
only reason why GIBBS get
more games than monreal is because wenger is intent on selecting his english core, to the detriment of the team at
times.
you wont see a cazorla or a xavi losing possession, not
only that but they drive the team forward.but unfortunately u hav players like ramsey, who do nt drive the attack like the above two, also he loses possessions sometimes by attempting fancy moves.its sad ramsey gives
more importance to style over substance.unfortunately, i feel players like ramsey hav contributed to arsenal's inability... imagine a team like barcelona
playing with him, constantly losing posession leading to conceding goals and so on.difference is barca's manager wud take them out, while under wenger u r rewarded with the nxt game!!!! i do nt deny he was top notch a season or two back, but now hes a liability imo and need to change his mentality.even that opportunity he got against tottenham where thought longer before taking a shot thus giving defender
time to get to him and take off the ball.i bet if it was cazorla, arsenal wud hav scored...
