When my guy was teeny, we used the higher position; by the time he was bigger and we used the lower position, he seemed to learn to sit or stand up quickly enough that I didn't have to bend over much and it never bothered me.Or maybe he just wasn't sleeping often enough
in the
crib... there are advantages to having a baby who will
only nap in the baby carrier or
in your lap, right?
And if you're going to want to be out and about
in the warm weather, don't get your child used to
only taking
naps in the
crib, or you won't be able to let him or her
nap in the stroller while you run errands.
With a second baby on the way, this article is a reminder of those first 6 months of struggle for our first born (though we kept her
in the
crib only during sleep /
nap time) and it gives me a head's up for the new nursery planning.
My daughter will be one next month and she goes to sleep easily
in her
crib at night and during
nap time... the
only problem is she usually wakes up at least once
in the middle of the night.
An hour after that, 11 month... old goes down for
nap (and will
only nap at home,
in his
crib), two hours later, 11 month old wakes up, everyone has lunch and then 2 year old goes down for
nap for 3 hours.
We have also placed him
in his
crib for
naps with success, though his
naps only last 30 minutes or so.
My other concern is that when i put her down for a
nap she usually cries for 5 - 10 mins and then settles but will
only sleep for 20 - 40 mins at the most and I have been leaving her
in her
crib until the next scheduled feeding.
However, she will not
nap in her
crib and usually will
only nap once a day.
Infants be placed
only on their back,
in a
crib, bed, or bassinet with a firm mattress, covered
only with a fitted sheet for
naps and at bedtime.
