He is better than a few of our squad options and i for one wouldnt mind seeing him come on for a Sant Cazorla or a M Ozil when we have a precious lead in a vital encounter, not only because of his workman like attitude but because he can offer something in attack at the same time.
goodness i can't believe it people will still defend him.You know something when Giroud misses many chances like at Monaco i did not criticize him even based on that you know why?its because he has always not been clinical. The only way a team can improve is by indentifying its problems and solving them.Arsenal has Giroud as the main cf and Welbeck as backup to him.Giroud has done well scoring some goals some too important but collectively he does more harm than good.Do not use moments to judge a player judge him based on content.Giroud does not excel in many games than he excels in games. As a main cf you need to be consistent.I see people here saying Giroud can not dribble he cant do this he cant do that but its a bit crazy to criticize him for that because every player has his own style.Giroud limitations as a player costs arsenal and will cost us a lot. Most importantly his poor finishing which has cost us several times. Not good enough. His style of play is ok for us but a striker who can take on players and run behind defences very well would make us very strong and also should be clinical. For Welbeck he needs to works on his finishing and composure by doing the basic things right. He rushes infront of goal too much. For now he is just above average. However he can excel if he works on improving.Giroud and Welbeck will always be a pain in arsenal's neck for most part. Some will call me stupid but hey at least i want to analyze the problem.People may support Giroud or Welbeck to lead the line next season but as the saying goes if you fool me once shame on you but if you fool me twice shame on me.Will you let Giroud and Welbeck fool you again?

If we were really interested, and willing to go to 65m or 70 + after add - ons, well then it would've been best for Pires to stay quiet and see how it would play out, 65 is allot for a kid that has 13 league goals only whilst the more experienced Lacazette has something like twenty four.
Personally, I like to see a player having a shoot on sight mentality (not all the time though), it's something the team lacks at times, how many times have we shouted SHOOOOOOT only to see another couple of passes and the move break down.
The Arsenal played well we had over 70 % position of the ball with something like 27 attacks were 8 were on target burnly had a game plan and that game plan was about hurting our players ankles and they got away scot free with it yet xaka gets red?????? Yes they were diddling about when that happened but compare it to the challenge on ozil and he was on goal yes koscienly came back from an offside position but the high boot on the head was dangerous I thought Arsenal played well and controlled the game well even when we were put under pressure in our own half when you look at the penalty awarded to them you will see a dive as coquelin barely touched him how many time did they push kosscielny of the ball???? hope he is ok as he was looking like he had a thigh problem I like the back four of todays as Gabriel did ok specially when we went down to ten men >> > I salute our Arsenal for wining the game on the 97 minit with only 10 men on the field What an iced cold penalty scored by Alexis
Don't get me wrong stats DO NOT tell the entire picture but, back in the day the only stats were goals, assists, tackles, but now they have statistics for all parts of the game so something like aerial duels can be quantified and we can see how dominate Le coq is in all aspects of the game
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get played by this club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus on the head instead of the heart for now
You are just one of those who couldn't wait to see his name posted.I bet your Mummy is so proud of you.I thought Pires would never be beaten for First place as the Village Idiot But CONGRATULATIONS.You Win.Even Pires has never managed to post something so completely one dimensionally incorrect as you.And you know what? You come across as STUPID enough to actually believe what you are saying.Honestly pal I can assure you that posts like this will only have everyone LAUGH AT YOU.Even those minority who still worship Wenger have NEVER blamed the Supporters for our rapid demise.
So people want to hang on to something positive like who could we bring up when we sell Alexis, because I see no reason for us to keep him with mediocre players wanting him to leave, because he disrupts the dressing room, and a manager who's only job at the club is to bring a profit, and Alexis will be a 70 million one.
Let's get it over with and hope that the 1st 3 games will be a small sample of something that will not be consistent over the course of the season... Like Ramsey said let's see in 10 games or so and see where they are not only in the table but also the way they play... disappointed in the way we manage the transfer window but this team can do great things let's see how far they go & how much magic can Wenger work with the belief he has in the players enough not to buy somebody except Cech...
You can only assume he saw something he liked ALOT.
There were many matches where it looked like he was the only one trying to make something happen and those around him went to sleep. He wants everyone to play with his strong mentality but little does he know that Arsenal is mentally weak team.Do you think Alexis can repeat this sulking in other top clubs? It's only Arsenal that opens themselves uo for such things in they way we behave and play. That being said I don't see the point in keeping a player who doesn't want to play for you but a rival. It's just sick.If I was Wenger I would've sold him but at am not.But mark my words we will be vindicated by his performances for another club just like the rest who left.
We can't see Toby Alderweireld's face either, but it seems fair to assume that it reads something like: Oh, for God's sake, why am I the only grown - up defender in this penalty box, and why am I over here?
The problem with Wenger is that he has not the killer instinct like coachs as ferguson or mourinho, they have this winning mentality who make them able to do anything in order to win, even cheating, wenger is just a tryer, he does not give it all in the fight. The team was obviously missing 2 centers backs and one strong DM, he did not address the problem, the striker issue was addressed only by luck, if Man U did not get falcao for any reason, there was no back up plan for any other striker, remember he was in Roma.I believe his age has something to do with that as he shows the stubborness of senile people.I don t see Arsenal as a force until he moves on somewhere else.the board too is responsible for not kwowing football and trusting him blindly even when he clearly fail his duties.
Now i have to agree with Ian Wright here, Lacazette should live in the final 3rd off the pitch and track back only when he see's a player down injured or something like that.
No matter what article you put up to prove wenger got something left in him to take us forward you are only being deluded cause people who worked closely with him like fabregas, nasri, van persie, ozil, sanchez, Chamberlain etc do not see him as the man to moving the club forward So they all want out.
I suspect he'll talk about every player getting a chance, about how he can play some players together like Lacazette and Aubameyang, but I think we'll only ever see that when there's the inevitable «we're behind so sh*t, we better do something» approach with ten minutes to go.
He might be a well - like teammate, but having him involved in matches in the form he is in is only going to cost United as the weeks pass, and really that is not something United need at the end of the season when they look back and see that things could have been changed with Rooney fighting for a position from the bench.
We've never seen something like this before, which means it could all suddenly end or it could be only the beginning.
Even thou, I still have something to criticise; We actually had 2 CDM today. To me Song has been put there to take up that job, but I saw Deni doing it more on his behalf and not only that but Deni did it far better than him.Back early this season, Deni has been heavily criticised on his Defensiv performance and now I see him better on his defence than his attack, I think its time for him now to combine the two sides, because if he just made some gud runs today, for attack assistance (Like Sagna or like what Flamini used to do the old days), then our attackin system was totaly perfect at 10Like Sagna or like what Flamini used to do the old days), then our attackin system was totaly perfect at 10like what Flamini used to do the old days), then our attackin system was totaly perfect at 100 %.
Maggie and Megan: I certainly haven't seen all HISD schools in action (indeed, I've only been in a handful of lunch rooms, something I'd like to change) but I can say that HISD is currently implementing some «improved dining concepts», starting (at the behest of our superintendent) at the most impoverished schools.
