I've been popping into
thrift shops with great frequency of late for one thing and one thing
only: chapter books.
Between her handing down maternity clothes that she no longer fits in (she
shopped at local
thrift / consignment stores), clothing swaps thrown by other friends, and the way my bump has developed the
only maternity wear I've had to spend money on has been a couple of belly bands and some pretty nursing bras.
I've been feeling this light pink colour for a while (clearly the pantone colours of the year have got to me), and a found a roll of this fabric in a
thrift shop when I was in Australia, for
only a few bucks I was pretty happy with it!

The coolest part about the
shopping experience is that you can save your favorite brands to your profile, so if you
only want to browse «skirts from J.Crew in size 6,» you don't have to waste time looking at everything else (again, the benefit of online vs. your neighborhood
thrift store).

Apart from
thrifting, the
only shopping goal I had in mind when I left home was finding some discounted Alexis Bittar pieces.
We used coupons, ate a lot of meatless meals,
shopped at
thrift stores, cooked from scratch, brown bagged it, continued to use our old and worn - down furniture, didn't replace anything that wasn't an absolute necessity, limited our going out to eat,
only had one car, stayed home a lot, used gift cards from Swagbucks to buy any non-necessities, bought eye glasses from Zenni optical, learned to be content with what we had, and continued to live on a strict written budget.
