TSH is not
the only thyroid marker that should be looked at in my experience.

It is considered the
only diagnostic test for hypothyroidism and the most sensitive
marker of peripheral tissue availability of
thyroid hormones.
However, TSH is
only a periphery
marker of total
thyroid function, not giving us the whole picture.
For example, when fasting (water -
only) for multiple days, T3 almost invariably goes down while other
markers of
thyroid health remain in their normal range.
Often doctors gauge
thyroid function using
only TSH, which is not the most accurate
marker.
