My reality check brain went off and I thought I'd share this idea with you (even though you should just be drinking and be merry to have such a fantastic place to do so)... I have heard that
open cabinet dishes tend to collect grease / dust and yours are near the stove so maybe all the more probable.

dish and glassware but somewhere for me to affectionately display my personal objets d'art as well.
However, after clearing out the many
dishes and bowls that we kept stored above our old kitchen
cabinets, I hesitated to jump on the
open shelving trend for our kitchen.
There aren't many occasions to
open up the china
cabinet so if you have fancy
dishes bring them out!

The current basement stair wall could be
opened up to make the hallway feel more spacious, and the existing
cabinet could be snazzed up a bit to look more like a butler's pantry, even though it is located in the hall, because it would be a convenient location for overflow platters and
dishes.
When the dishwasher was
open, I couldn't reach or even
open some of the
cabinets I stored
dishes in AND I couldn't even use the drawer next to it because the dishwasher handle kept it from

I do not have them in my current home but we also have a lake cottage and the first thing I did when we bought it was rip out the
