of justice and my grandmother's red glasses among other things.

Until, that is, one day, when we can skooch the dining table into the sunroom and move the
kitchen in to a (currently nonexistent) space just
off the (current) back door... and move the piano over by the staircase... which will become an
open staircase,
of course.
I don't actually call my style this to others but in repsonse to this Q I'm thinking «Ballard Barn»:)... neutral different yet complementary gray toned walls throughout our
open concept home downstairs... darker wood floors... leather sofas... newly remodeled white
kitchen... white cabinets on perimeter with gray Quartz counters... large Old world mahogany island with creamy granite that looks like marble with more colors with chrome pulls on both... lots
of textures throughout (grain sack pillows, chunky handmade by my mom throws)... artwork from my talented teenage daughter (straight knock
off of Ballard styles
of 3 horses.
With the trend in contemporary
kitchens being to
open them up to the activity
of the household, it's nice that the designers found a way to bring visitors and other activities into this essentially closed -
off room.
The
open - planned space allows ease
of access from the
kitchen to the dining area and prevents whoever's cooking from feeling cut
off.
