I would like cabinets over the washer and dryer with some
open shelving, and I love the
idea of building a counter just above the two units to use as a work space.
additionally... will you be able to
open the doors with your couch there (perhaps it just looked tight because of where the couch was) I'm sure you thought of those things - wasn't sure if the storage

Open shelving doesn't have to look messy.
Open shelving is always a good
idea!
The
open shelving on the bottom of the vanity was such a brilliant
idea, truly gives the spa feeling.
After months (literally) of toying with the
idea of
open shelving, I finally went for it.
With this in mind, kitchen storage
ideas consisted mainly of practical
open shelving to stock Kilner jars and tins for ingredients and colourful cabnetry with plenty of room for bakeware and cookin utensils.
IDEA: Keep dust from collecting in glasses or stored china by using built - in cabinets with doors instead of
open shelving.
I loved the
open shelf and came up with the
idea of using the
shelves to add cups, plates, wine glasses, etc..
Mine are way too HIGH on the wall, and I was thinking I would replace them with some used cabinets (hoping to find some that are solid wood — mine are not) but you've given me a lot to think about with the
open -
shelving - under - the - cabinets
idea.
Open shelves for displaying your best crockery and glassware are one way to do this, but we also like the
idea of creating an art wall, just as you would in your lounge or hall.
Obviously these cabinet doors aren't painted yet in that pic, but it gives you a good
