For if a religious movement necessarily embodies a backward movement of involution and return, then the very fact that we have died to the religious form of early Christianity can make possible our
passage through a reversal of religious Christianity, a reversal that can
open to us a new and fuller participation in the
forward movement of the Incarnation.
