Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Entergy this month announced plans to phase out and close Indian Point in Westhchester County, but
opponents of the plan insist there isn't a viable energy source to replace the power needs for the metropolitan area.
Wilson is calling on DiNapoli, who was in Buffalo yesterday raising concerns about the state budget, not to sign off on the spending
plan (once it's officially finished),
insisting that the comptroller has the power to refuse to certify — an assertion DiNapoli
insists is false (as did one
of his predecessors, H. Carl McCall, who was needled on the same point by his then - primary
opponent in 2002, Andrew Cuomo).
