I can say with confidence that my first chai
tea latte was not the authentic, brewed - to -
order kind you'll find in Portland, Oregon but a
sweet syrupy imposture that some places still pass off as chai
tea.
I always
order «half
sweet, half unsweet» at restaurants because southern
sweet tea is just too
sweet for my taste...
Chai means, simply,
tea, but
order a cup in India and you're likley to get a small hot glass of something
sweet, milky and spicy.
I
ordered fried chicken and
sweet tea and had peach cobbler as one of my «vegetables.»
We immediately
ordered a pot of
tea and a cup of coffee before taking it in turns to peruse the smorgasbord of tasty treats (both savoury and
sweet).
A few of my other loves, in no particular
order, include my
sweet Jesus, family, friends, photography, drawing, antique shops, old books, chai
tea lattes, travel, nature (I love being outside!)
