At the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, exactly 30 years after
the original CTR was launched, RuF presented a new model paying tribute to
the original CTR.
The 2017 CTR comes exactly 30 years after
the original CTR, known as the Yellow Bird, was released.
The original CTR was built on the bones of the Porsche 930 Turbo and sported a wide range of modifications that allowed the CTR to reach an astounding 213 mph — in 1987.
Not exact matches
But the
CTR3's ambition — as well as exceeding that of the
original and now legendary 469bhp
CTR «Yellow Bird» and the 520bhp
CTR2 that followed a decade later — reaches beyond even that of Porsche's fastest ever production car.
And, as tends to happen as a species evolves and improves its genetic makeup, the latest member of the
CTR family tree certainly moves the game on from the iconic
original.
