Philip Clayton, a theologian at Claremont School of Theology, picks up on this dimension of evolutionary process and likens creaturely life to the unfolding of a
jazz composition: God provides the motifs, but creatures (of various kinds, from the smallest to the largest) provide the
original riffs.
Her repertoire included
jazz, folk and American musical standards, as well as
original compositions on racial and social injustice.
She attended Interlochen Arts Camp, Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, Texas, and the University of North Texas, where she majored in
