(Think Mario 64, but all
of the courses are connected to each
other and Mario can travel to all
of them on foot, rather than going to separate
areas through
paintings)
This game, inspired by squid squirting out ink, is played by human - shaped characters with squid - like features shooting, instead
of squirting, ink at each
other, and the team that
paints the widest
area in its team color wins.
Most often in shaped
painting it feels the
other way around, the marks just bounce against a predetermined
area or succumb to it as a kind
of mould.

other words, the very ground was part
of the medium, so that instead
of thinking
of it as background or negative space or an empty spot, that

of camera art in which the photographer manipulates a regular photo in order to create an «artistic» image; Fashion Photography (1880 - present) a type

of clothing, shoes, perfume and

The staining process created fields
of dense color and
other areas where the color seemed almost translucent; for Dzubas, these
paintings referenced natural phenomena, emotion, the painterly gesture, and the experience
of color itself.
The nearest I have come to thinking I'm seeing deep space in abstract
painting (aside from no - account atmospheric stuff) is in Anne's work from 3 years ago, where the difference between the larger
areas contrasted with
other incredibly detailed

of the work seemed to change, to pull the viewer (well, me) in and out, like a kind
