Charting individual planets aside,
other astronomers continued their efforts at mapping the entire universe, hoping to answer the question of whether space is finite.

Until then the planet's true status will remain uncertain — and
astronomers will likely
continue second - guessing a handful of
other Kepler finds.
Thirty years later — the equivalent of one Saturn year, in
other words, the time the planet takes to go all the way around the Sun — and over more than six consecutive years, researchers in the UPV / EHU's Planetary Sciences Group, in collaboration with
astronomers from various countries, were able to observe Saturn's northern polar region in detail once again and confirmed that the hexagon
continued in place.

other cosmic phenomenon to further understand the nature of the Universe and our place in it.
The field
continues to attract women and benefits from their participation, but there is wide geographical diversity, with some countries having none and
other countries having more than 50 % female professional
astronomers.
The AAS further endorses the report's key recommendations on optimizing instrumentation for, and offering broad access to, the full suite of public and private telescopes; on developing the capacity to further investigate Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) discoveries; on identifying the facilities needed to realize
other decadal survey priorities; and on
continuing technology development and
astronomer training needed for the future.
The proven segmented mirror design of the Keck Observatory telescopes is now the preferred solution for all
other large telescopes, including the next space telescope, JWST, and the even larger ground ‑ based telescopes
astronomers will use to
continue exploring our Universe.
While two
other teams of
astronomers have confirmed the presence of so - called «dark flow» of galaxy clusters up to 200 million light years, the discovery team has been working with additional
astronomers to verify that the flow
continues through to the horizon of the visible universe (Amanda Gefter, New Scientist, January 22, 2009; Mersini - Houghton and Holman, 2008; and Kashlinsky et al, 2008a and 2008b).
