the other big airlines.

The

That being said, thanks to the 2014 United devaluation and the upcoming 2016 American devaluation, the
other airline loyalty programs in the
Big 3 are no longer head and shoulders above SkyMiles.
Another
big one: unlike
other airlines, United doesn't add any fuel surcharges to any of their partner
airlines.
On
other airlines, you've got The JetBlue Plus Card, which is another
big spend bonus card.
That leaves only the Priority Pass lounge access, which is available on
other credit cards as well and doesn't offer access to any lounges of the
Big 3
airlines (Delta, American, and United), so you're getting mostly secondary lounges.
In some cases even buying a cheap flight with this deal plus a
Big Front Seat will be cheaper than a standard economy ticket on
other airlines.
The
biggest enhancement will be when the
airline rolls out its new all - aisle - access flat - bed seats on its new Boeing 777 - 300ER aircraft later this year, which will be the first official Polaris - branded seats (coming later on
other aircraft).
Alaska bought Virgin America last December, and though have released a few details on how the merger would impact elite benefits, mileage earning, and
other short - term concerns, they have kept travelers waiting for a
bigger picture view of what these
airlines will look like when the merger is complete.

Our favorite mileage programs are AA and United because they allow you to book one way awards and are a great complement to each

These aren't as expensive as some
other airlines but definitely a

Other cards with

Some observers say the change to spending - based programs is a logical development following the hotel industry's lead, but
others see it as the latest step in a class warfare where
airlines disproportionately cater to
