card also overlap with the quarterly
bonuses on the Chase Freedom ®.
You can find
other cards that offer higher rewards rates but you'll usually have to watch for rotating
categories (that usually have caps on the
bonus reward) or you'll have to pay an annual fee to offset higher rewards rates.
The second type of person that the Double Cash makes sense for is someone who has a few
other rewards
cards that cover popular purchase
categories, like groceries, gas and travel, but they're looking for a
card for
other purchases that otherwise would not earn a
bonus.
After the first year it deserves a spot in the wallet of someone who wants to maximize rewards for purchases not included in the
bonus earning
categories of their
other rewards credit

card above most of the

If you want a rewarding cash back credit
card, there are
other similar rotating
bonus category cards like the Chase Freedom or the Discover it ® — Cashback Match ™
cards that are better because general earning power isn't constrained so much.
After you earn the welcome
bonus and have spent more than $ 10,000 in the
bonus categories, the
card earns just 1 percent back for most purchases, which lags behind
other rewards
cards.
At the same time, I plan to use the second Chase
card on three
other bonus categories until I get to $ 200.
Without any
other bonus categories, the
card can fall short of some of the
other point earning
cards out there.

The variety of summer
bonus categories from the

The Discover it
card offers
bonus categories that earn five percent cash back and rotate every quarter and all
other purchases earn one percent cash back.
While there are
other cards that feature a tiered rewards structure with rotating
bonus categories, they don't put you in the driver's seat when it comes to choosing what those
categories are.
As with most
other credit
cards, Citi will be adding
bonuses to transactions whose merchants are coded under the
bonus categories.
Again, the
bonus categories for spending are generally similar for airline
cards, but
other benefits will vary greatly.
If you'd like a sizable credit
card bonus, or have significant spending in
other categories you should consider
other cards.
On the downside, you do have to manually sign - up for your quarterly
bonus categories, so it takes a little more management than
other cash - back
cards.
One incredible feature sets the Discover it
card apart from
other 1 percent cash back
cards with rotating
bonus categories: The
card matches all your cash back at the end of your first year of membership.
I use my Chase Freedom over my
other cards to earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points in the
bonus categories each quarter.
Wells Fargo has introduced 2 brand new points
cards that offer substantial sign - up
bonuses which are worth ~ $ 500 or more, and have 2X and 3X spending
categories, no foreign transaction fees, and many
other perks.
For example, the Chase Freedom ®
Card and Discover it
Card allow you to earn 5 % cash - back on quarterly
bonus categories up to $ 1,500, plus 1 % on
other purchases.
Why we like it: Aside from the lack of annual fees and the 5 % cash back
bonus on rotating
categories, the Discover It
card offers plenty of
other features for
card members, including free access to your FICO score each month and the Freeze It security measure, which allows you to turn your
card on or off whenever you like.
Chase Freedom ® Do you want to earn 5 % cash back on up to $ 1,500 through
bonus categories each quarter, and 1 % cash back on all
other card purchases at all times?

On the plus side, those rewards are somewhat competitive compared to
other Visa
card options, with gas, dining, and travel
bonus categories on top of the Costco
bonus rewards.
As a stand - alone
card, the Chase Freedom delivers a good rewards rate, but the 5 percent rotating
bonus categories are what really set it apart and make it a great companion to
other rewards
cards.
Since Chase does allow you to transfer points from your Chase Freedom
card to
other Chase
cards, you can use the Chase Freedom
card to accumulate extra points on 5 percent
bonus categories, and then transfer all those points to a premium
card.
Unlike
other Chase
cards, it does not have
bonus categories.
