coconut milk (which btw, is great for your skin, even when used in cooking, because
of the high fat content) give this
brand a try before going to any
of the
others.

coconut milk in the Ayam
brand and the
other coconut milk brands that I tried were a waste
of time....

brands of coconut milk will be more stiff than
others.
Other ingredients: Frozen cherries Frozen bananas (makes much thicker smoothies) Frozen mango or papaya Mixed berries A dab
of chocolate soy
milk 3 - 4 dates (pitted) Papaya nectar (Knudsen
brand, found in natural food stores)
Coconut nectar (Knudsen
brand, found in natural food stores)
There are also a variety
of coconut milk brands that come in uhf packaging like that, many without the guar gum or
other stabilizers, again check your Asian market if you've got one.
FYI: a number
of almond
milk and
coconut milk brands, not to mention a whole bunch
of other organic foods, also have carrageenan in them.
I like to use Trader Joe's canned light
coconut milk because it doesn't contain additives, has very little sugar, and doesn't have a strong (almost fake)
coconut taste that reminds you
of sunscreen and being on the beach like some
of the
other brands I've tried.
Different
brands of coconut milk have a stronger
coconut flavor than
others.
The
brand I used in this recipe was one
of the best I've tried, but
other products contain more fats (e.g. Biona
coconut milk doesn't «cream» well).
