For the hardware they chose brushed nickel classic pieces that feel right for this period of the house, and the nickel is a beautiful option as its warmth fits beautifully with
the other brass elements in the rest of their house.

I knew that I wanted to keep it mostly black and white with touches of wood,
brass, copper, and
other natural
elements — and plenty of plants.
With the sculptures of this project, Barney has moved away from his signature materials — thermal plastic and petroleum jelly — towards metals, materials, which, on the one hand, are more typical of traditional sculpture and, on the
other hand, of industrial processes: iron, bronze, lead, copper,
brass, zinc, silver, as well as the continued employment of organic
elements such as sulphur and salt.
Photographic details of facades, cornices, windows, and
other architectural
elements are printed on vinyl and affixed to geometric armatures of bronze, steel, and
brass, as well as concrete and wood.
Metallic bed frames, headboards, lamps, and
other design
elements were silver or brushed nickel in the 2000s instead of
brass or bronze from the 1990s.
