film to be enjoyed for its individual moments, Ariyan Johnson's winning
charm as Chantel and the fact that Harris has put the spotlight on the girls who too often are just bystanders in
other inner - city movies.

charming for its refusal to sell its musical numbers; Tim Sutton's delicate, impressionistic Memphis, a blues tone poem that trails contemporary recording artist Willis Earl Beal, playing a character close to himself who's looking for inspiration in a legendary city that's as much mirage as actuality; and two horror
films, Jennifer Kent's uncanny, driving psychodrama The Babadook, with a remarkable performance by child actor Noah Wiseman, and Ana Lily Amirpour's less sustained A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, which nonetheless generates some powerful political metaphors.
Ball of Fire isn't as memorable as either of those
other films, but it has its own
charm, and it's certainly worth a watch.

charming enough, while never approaching cinematic excellence that the ambitious design (the country's first CGI
film, a World War II setting, and a low budget) might have suggested and
other studios (like Pixar) might have achieved with the same elements in place.

films, transform from precocious children to
charming adults over the course of the series.

other books, I continue to blissfully remain ignorant of the
