The Eastern Orthodox delegation asked to be excused from voting on the
other reports; but they heartily supported this one, which affirmed that the message
of the church to the world must always remain the gospel
of Jesus Christ — the gift
of a new word from God to this old world
of sin and death, being the prophetic call to sinful
men to turn to God as the only way by which humanity can escape from those
class and race hatreds which devastate society, and fulfill humanity's longing for intellectual sincerity, social justice and spiritual inspiration.
Even if we suppose a
man so packed with healthy - mindedness as never to have experienced in his own person any
of these sobering intervals, still, if he is a reflecting being, he must generalize and
class his own lot with that
of others; and, doing so, he must see that his escape is just a lucky chance and no essential difference.
In a study
of his earlier pictures, Kolker notes that «Scorsese is interested in the psychological manifestations
of individuals who are representative either
of a
class or
of a certain ideological grouping; he is concerned with their relationship to each
other or to an antagonistic environment... [and finally] there is no triumph for his characters» (A Cinema
of Loneliness [Oxford University Press, 19881, p. 162) The Jesus
of the Last Temptation fits this pattern (as do Travis Bickel in Taxi Driver, Jake LaMotta in Raging Bull and Paul Hackett in After Hours) By eschewing any reference to a resurrection — and, in an interesting theological note, allowing Paul to suggest that his preaching
of the risen Christ is more important than the Jesus
of history — Scorsese presents the crucifixion as the final willful act
of a
man driven by a God who makes strange demands on his followers.
Here is the sheer miracle
of it: a literature that long antedated our glorious gains in science and the immense scope
of modern knowledge, which moves in the quiet atmosphere
of the ancient countryside, with camels and flocks and roadside wells and the joyous shout
of the peasant at vintage or in harvest — this literature, after all that has intervened, is still our great literature, published abroad as no
other in the total
of man's writing, translated into the world's great languages and many minor ones, and cherished and loved and studied so earnestly as to set it in a
class apart.
Esselmont says that the founder's utterances «like
other divine manifestations, may be divided into two
classes, in one
of which he writes or speaks simply as a
man who has been charged by God with a message to his fellows, while in the
other class the words purport to be the direct utterance
of God himself.»
We need not anthropocentrically imagine the evolutionary process to culminate in
man, for it is quite conceivable that in time it might bypass
man and the entire
class of mammals to favor some very different species capable
of a greater complexity than
man can achieve; if not here on earth, then in some
other planetary system.
This makes sense to you, although it makes no sense at all to me (and I would predict it makes no sense to the

The

In the light
of this analysis, then, my own scenario is cautiously hopeful, depending on (1) whether a creative minority
of dreamers and doers with visions
of a new life - fulfilling social order really emerges in strength, (2) the alliances that can be worked out with blacks, the poor, and
other minorities now excluded from major social benefits, (3) the extent to which the populist idealism
of the lower middle
classes and working people generally favoring the extension
of rights and equality to the «little
man» everywhere wins out over the reactionary fears and prejudices which establishment elites and opportunist politicians are all too willing to exploit, and (4) what takes place at the center
of the political spectrum itself under the pressure
of events and in response to challenges to the established system from militant seekers
of change.
Although churches have never fully lived up to this ideal and have often sadly departed from it, the Christian gospel has always been a rebuke to race prejudice, national or
class conflict, and every

It should be borne in mind, in the second place, that there continued to exist within the Islamic Society churches, monasteries, synagogues, and temples serving Christians, Jews, Zoroastrians, and
others; that all these survived, not as ghost communities or depressed
classes, but as communities
of living
men and women who pursued their callings, professed their faith openly, and entered into polemics in defense
of it; who continued to develop their religious, philosophical, and scientific legacies; and who were at all times in communication with their Muslim neighbors.

This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out
of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out
of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out
of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world -
class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the
other was just sold to Juve...
man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
this window has just finished i am already thinking about who we will get for the january window we might try for khedira on a really low offer as he is free agent almost would help boost numbers in midfield in the new year as we will no doubt need to filling the numbers about then also i will hold my hands up and say i was wrong this morning for giving wenger stick and saying welbeck is rubbish i have been out in the cold light
of day and had a chance to reevaluate the situation and realized that this could be a canny shrew transfer on wenger behalf actually if wenger can turn the clock back and work his magic on welbeck and get him scoring goals and improve his game then we could have a great underrated signing on our hands its wengers absolute trust in him that might be what makes him a great player as this is something that he never had at old mordor if anybody can make him a world beater wenger can he loves this little pet projects improving players against the odds welbeck has the skillset to be high
class player upfornt he just needs to work very hard on his finishing i think once he gets a few goals under his belt he will settle in fine and he is a team player you could put him on the left against
man city to shore up that side and he will put in a great shift without a complaint that could be his biggest asset to us or on the right whenever we need him there ithinkwenger might start himon the left against city to protect the left back against navas and i bet you if he does a great job we will take a shine to him quickly i am hopeing he will be one
of those wenger gems that he finds and polishes up to a high finish i must admit i was annoyed as some
other gunners were at not signing d / m and c / h but if wenger does win the league with this lot it will be his greatest win yet and what might play in to our hands is the unpredictable nature
of the league in the last few seasons if we get on a good run at the right time we might be hard to stop look at city they should have never lost to stoke but the result is there in black and white for all to see and i think chelsea will hit the skids after a while to just because cesc and costa are doing well now thats there main threat but teams will work out how to stop them as the season goes on and chelsea will become predictable i think we might just do well this season after all
Giroud going to The Chavs actually weakens their squad as Batshuayi will score more goals than the Frenchman will.Giroud is NOT a good finisher he is NOT a good target
man he does NOT hold the ball up and bring
others into the game he has NOT got any pace He is NOT anywhere near the

I too also know that we look weak at the back but i also believe they have learnt from there mistakes last season and have a stronger unity this season going into the 3rd season with the team wenger has put together without losing key players and adding real Quality and world
class that i havent seen before because none
of our history says we bought our trophies we won them with all the unexpected beliefs and never bought into the society and modern game we seen before us not one
of our legends were already labelled for they are today before they came to us The made a name for themselfs in our Jersey and build a foundation
of what we represent today Before Arsene Wenger and with him We are a club that overachieve and under promise Everything we've done has be our very own unique way
of doing it not the way
other clubs are ahiceving i for one will not Follow the
Man City's ambitions Chelseas Manchester united or anyone elses

If you want to talk mediocrity look at
other teams
other then
Man U even Chelsea and you will understand what mediocrity is Morons like you will never appreciate what Wenger has done for Arsenal football club Certainly more then the current plastic moronic fanbase at Arsenal I've been a season ticket holder since 1976 and this is the worst fanbase I have seen in that time BeforfNs start saying we pay top money my answer is don't come t the ground we don't need stupid fans better to have half empty stadium full
of real fans then morons taking out their real frustrations
of failure on the team Just ask spuds fans who seem to back their team even though they have only won 2 trophies in 30 years and only been in the cl 4 times as opposed to the cabinet Full
of trophies that Wenger has delivered plus a new stadium and works
class stars that have played for us in his tenure.
Coaches are paid to produce results on the pitch and yo win trophies for the team.If a coach fails those basic things then he is not go enough and must leave.Sucess or failure comes down to the decisions
of the coach ranging from decisions in the transfer market, training methods, team selection, tactics etc.Looking @ the transfer market - Wenger has a shambolic record - failure to act decisively and always acting when it's too late, selling our top players to rival clubs, leaving
other positions thin and reinforcing wrong positions especially buying lots
of attacking midfielders ignoring defensive positions and failing to buy top
class strikers or decent strikers. If Wenger is really serious about winning trophies would he buy a player like Welbeck a fourth choice play at
Man United whom Vaan Gaal said is only good for the bench and now he plays every game at Arsenal. Why sell Vemaleen and buy Chambers?
In that context, a move for an established
class midfielder such as Thiago begins to make sense, with the former Barça
man a product
of La Masia, who should require less bedding in time than
other potential midfield options.
In any
other side with genuine title - winning ambitions he would be a high -
class option player or an impact forward to throw on and alter the shape
of a contest locked down to his team's usual Plan A: the kind
of striker a club like Barcelona could use off the bench but not a target -
man they would build their attack around.
In conclusion, maybe if some wise, strong women could help all weak, brainwashed women to learn how to love themselves, to recognize how foolish we are for putting
others ahead
of ourselves, to open our eyes and see how
others are treating us, take part in «love yourself» therapy
classes, and last, but not least, read articles like this one, regularly, that ministers to our downtrodden spirits, then maybe, maybe, we could see a change where women begin to love themselves and not worship a
man and
others, only God!!

Nicholls and Cristina Raines), the
other two - thirds
of Tom's folk act, whose ambition overrides constant personal rancor; Winifred (Barbara Harris), another would - be singer - songwriter, fleeing to Nashville from her working -
