other pathogens have been identified in raw diets or raw meat ingredients, and these represent a risk not only to the dogs fed these diets but to their owners, particularly children and people with compromised immune systems.29 - 30 The bones often included in such diets can cause fractured teeth and gastrointestinal diseases, including obstructed or perforated intestines, and the FDA recently warned
pet owners against feeding bones to their canine companions.
Cancer, arthritis, allergies, autoimmune disease, and many
other conditions are frequently claimed to be the result of eating
commercial pet foods.
And the increase in incidence of these degenerative diseases in dogs and
other animals has occurred in direct proportion to the practise of giving
pets raw food or table scraps, to giving them
commercial pet food.
Most
commercial pet wheels also pose a danger to a glider's tail and
other apendages.

D. Breeder must be prepared to ensure to the best of their ability that no stud dog or brood bitch owned by them is bred to any dog or bitch whose owner is directly or indirectly involved with any dog broker, puppy mill,
pet shop that retails dogs, auctions, litter lot sales, or any
other commercial enterprise whose business is involved in these activities.
The City Council's Public Safety and Neighborhood Services Committee is scheduled next week to consider banning the retail sale of dogs, cats and rabbits in
pet stores and
other commercial establishments in San Diego.
This case, as with some
other commercial dog breeders and activities within the
pet trade, is not simple.
Try to avoid

 Report all cruel, inhumane treatment you observe at a

Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, an association that conducts animal care seminars and
other events and works for reasonable animal welfare laws at the state and federal levels.
Well those of you who've been following the story will know that in 2016 three of the four biggest animal charities in the UK — Dogs Trust, Battersea, and Blue Cross shocked supporters by suddenly U-turning and refusing to support a ban on puppies sold in
pet shops and
other commercial third party dealers; removing all traces of their previous opposite stance from their websites.
