There is no doubt that carbon pollution is a threat to human health and should be strictly limited like
other dangerous pollutants.
The new rules are expected to save up to 11,000 lives each year and avoid tens of thousands of asthma attacks by ensuring that the dirtiest power plants in the nation install the available technology to cut mercury, arsenic and
other dangerous pollutants.
To their disappointment, this rule requires polluters reduce emissions of heavy metals, toxic gases, and
other dangerous pollutants.
