I have no first - hand experience in this, we didn't put any funds into starting up Six Revisions or
Design Instruct because they were all allocated to content production, development, and our technology infrastructure, but I personally know a few
bloggers that have invested in online advertising like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc. and it really shortened the time it required for them to get serious site traffic compared to
others (like us) who chose not to invest in getting that initial boost in site traffic.

Now that the internet has shrunk our rapid response cycles from hours to seconds, advocates use a big public event like this (and the #SOTU hashtag associated with it) to reach activists, journalists,
bloggers and
other influencers with messages
designed to shape the online commentary around their particular issues.
At least once a week I'm emailed questions from readers and
other bloggers about the blogging resources I use for my site, everything from «how do I create my own blog», «who
designed your site», «how do you send out the weekly newsletter / blog update», etc..
I have been pretty swamped focusing on building up my social consulting business +
designing a new site for it (stay tuned... I am perfecting the
design hehe), being a boss lady ain't easy... let me tell ya haha However, one of my highlights of the long Labor Day Weekend (
other than the amazing sales) was being able to meet up with some of my
blogger friends — I have been out of commission for a little bit since I've been drowning in work + the blog, but heading to a comedy show + some brunch was the perfect way to catch up with some of my favorite gals!

Another
blogger friend, Jenna from NY has a kitchen she
designed featured on the cover, along with the whole story in the magazine too, so it's fun to see many
other blog friends featured in the magazine as well.

I've always loved fashion and
design and find inspiration in a lot of places: photography, art, travel, fashion designers, and
other bloggers are a few places that I look.

This is Part I of a four part series I'm participating in with
other Canadian Home & Garden
Design bloggers.
We're all about trying to help you sell more books here at BookPromotion.com, but until you find the «magic formula» that's going to work to sell more of your books (whether that's advertising, book
bloggers, building your mailing list, growing your social media, or any of the
other stuff we talk about), I thought that today I'd give you some ideas for earning some money using those writing / editing /
design skills.
Besides freelance writing the biggest percentage of my online income comes from web
design work, almost exclusively for
other travel
bloggers and companies in the travel / tourism industry.
But thank you so much for the nomination and all of the support you have provided me and
other travel
bloggers especially with the running of the Feet Do Travel Facebook Group which is
designed to bring travel
bloggers together and to inspire them to reach for the stars.
Today I was in a discussion with
other family travel
bloggers about what amenities or
designs we look for in a hotel.
As I traipse around the galleries, catch up on the backlog in my InBox, and read the
other bloggers via my new Feedly RSS reader (so nicely
designed!)
I have
designed simple versions so
other climate
bloggers can build and run them for themselves.
Finally, attorney and
blogger Carolyn Elefant, Esq. also provided links to a blog post she had prepared that included a series of online resources that are
designed to help with determining fees, including Laffey Matrix and RateDriver, amongst
others.
Sauder did an amazing job and put together a beautiful Lookbook that includes my photos and the photos of all the
other bloggers included in this
design challenge.
Not only is she a mom and a
blogger, she sews AND has written up this pattern for making an adorable tunic dress (which is another one of my favorite projects —
designing stuff and then writing up the patterns so
other moms can make stuff, too!)
I learned this in graphic
design school but I swear, you and some
other bloggers out there could very well be our instructors — it would save us tons of money!
Now, the
blogger - turned - author has published her second book, this time placing heavy focus on interior
design and entertaining (after all, what fun is it to have one without the
other?).
So, will you help me do this?!? The
other participating
design bloggers are AMAZING so I'll definitely need all the help I can get.
Speaking of beautiful home details, I had the opportunity this week with a few
other bloggers to peek inside a GORGEOUS new home that was being used as a location for a Ballard
Designs catalog shoot!
Styling a bookcase with

Designs bookcase challenge was so great — I felt like I was on HGTV
Design Star (minus the snide remarks).
Someday I know that we will downsize and I am looking forward to
designing a new kitchen too — I'm getting lots of ideas from you and
other bloggers!

So, when I was asked to join a lovely summer home tour by Nina Hendrick
Design, Birch Lane, the wonderful Country Living Magazine, along with a bunch of

bloggers, I thought since we are in the middle of our move, I would share 5 tips to decorate your home for summer.
I will be
designing alongside 20

bloggers, and I am feeling a bit like a small fish in a big pond.

bloggers and blog followers we don't usually realize that we have lives beyond our blogs and
other things going on outside of interior
design.
