Also featured in the exhibition will be a series of paintings based on memorabilia from the American punk scene of the 1970 - 80s and
other works that use
early Modernism as a starting point to address topics such as fascism, sex and boredom, which the
artist likens to «Suprematism on poppers.»
Other early announcements have included Susanne Pfeffer as curator of the German Pavilion, and
artist representatives Lisa Reihana for New Zealand, Geoffrey Farmer for Canada, and Tracey Moffatt for Australia.
It also includes transcripts of interviews with Dmitri Gutov, Pavel Pepperstein and Sergei Anoufriev, as well as correspondence with Nikita Alekseev, Elena Elagina, Igor Makarevich and
other artists who had their work exhibited at the gallery in the
early 1990s.
Other exhibits currently on view at the Brooklyn Museum are Chicago in L.A., Judy Chicago's
early works, and Brooklyn - based
artist Swoon's Submerged Motherland, a site - specific installation in the museum's rotunda gallery engages climate change and transforms the space into an artistically constructed fantastical environment.
Exhibited across two floors of the gallery, the paintings here range in scale from the tablet - sized Boardwalk Barter a reminiscence from the
artist's

After 20 years of working in production for
other artists, both to gain experience and to support his own practice, James L. Hayes reflects on his
early career experiences in «A Near Visible Past,» a solo exhibition at UNO St. Claude Gallery.
Other works in the exhibition include the
artist's «glass-less» mirrored surface paintings, a rejoinder to Michelangelo Pistoletto's paintings on mirrors that he produced in the
early sixties.
It is too
early to tell whether
other foundations or
artists» estates will follow Rauschenberg's lead.
