The emergence of
Evangelical Catholicism is a Spirit - led development reflecting the cultural contingencies of history, like
other such evolutions over the past two millennia: the evolution from the primitive
Church to the
Church of the Fathers; the evolution from patristic Catholicism to medieval Catholicism; the development of Counter-Reformation Catholicism (the
Church in which anyone over sixty today was raised) from medieval Catholicism.
It can only be met by a robustly

The February decision by the Ethiopian
Evangelical Church Makane Yesus (EECMY) to terminate its 150 - year partnership with the
Church of Sweden (CoS) and its 50 - year partnership with the
Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America (ELCA) comes after the EECMY tried — and failed — to persuade the
other two bodies to reverse recent decisions to ordain gay clergy and bless same - sex unions.
What is called «bad theology» in
evangelical America may not be the same bad theology of
other parts of
church America.

evangelical community for writing about my doubts, my questions related to heaven and hell, my views on biblical interpretation and theology, and my support for women in ministry and
other marginalized people in the

church «with a simple liturgy, wonderful music, a healthy and grounded pastor, a hospitable congregation, and an emphasis on Christ, grace, vocation, and
other Lutheran essentials that answered questions I had been turning over in my mind for years in my
evangelical settings.»
Through these further human relations Christ leaves
other principles which will endure in the
Church: Petrine (Office and Sacraments), Pauline (missionary character and charisms), Johannine (unity, contemplative love and the
evangelical counsels) and Jacobine (continuity of old and new covenant — Tradition, Canon Law).

other Evangelical meetings like Young Life back in the day, and the people there had absolutely no problem cheerfully consigning people to hell in the absence of any atheists or
other critics at all.

Largely excluded from the PFNA when the whites were joining the NAE, and more likely to find solidarity with the

churches than with the white Pentecostals or

churches are much less tempted by a fundamentalist identity.

I have discovered that the conservative
evangelical church's viewpoint in the 1950's did not necessarily represent the viewpoint of
other churches, nor the viewpoint held by the
church over the previous two millennia.
Demanding respect for these freedoms and blocking the possibility of abuses by the Catholic

other powerful institutions are the motivations behind recently increased political participation by Mexican
evangelicals.
