flicks of the 80s (which isn't exactly true,
as he mysteriously quotes from movies of
other genres and eras
as well), there isn't much to Cop Out one could call a loving spoof.
A psychological drama that registered with audiences and critics alike because of its heartfelt painful story,
as this indie
flick did itself proud in the award department in the Australian version of the Oscars (won 13 awards, including best film, director, actor and actress) and was viewed in competition at Cannes and at a number of
other film festivals throughout the world including the prestigious Edinburgh Festival.
They cracked on each
other as they related lots of good notes about the
flick.
And you'll likely start recalling
other quality gangster
flicks as you process this one.
Man, I hate saying things like that, because it sounds so pseudo-intellectual and pretentious, but in the case of Blade Runner -
