These factors come to mind for someone with Hashimoto's: other foods that may not have been eliminated; selenium and zinc if they are not already part of the protocol; dysbiosis and
other gut issues / infections; adrenals.
Diet itself is a huge component of healing Hashimoto's or other autoimmune conditions and hormonal imbalances, however there can be other causes of these conditions as well that need to be addressed, such as heavy metals, parasites and
other gut issues.
I also always recommend a stool test because there may be candida or
other gut issues present that need to be addressed and can cause symptoms to linger.
I've seen that a lot, and actually sometimes intolerance of probiotics is one red flag for me that makes me want to look for SIBO and
other gut issues.
Constipation and IBS and
other gut issues respond beautifully to the Paleo diet.
A sublingual supplement of B12 is recommended for those with SIBO or
other gut issues affecting absorption.

On the
other hand, when you're lacking the numbers of good microbes in your
gut that you need to effectively keep your digestion moving along, one of the first places
issues will materialize is on your skin.
But I certainly think the best place to start in a lot of cases is looking at the
gut because the
gut, a problem in the
gut can manifest as so many
other symptoms that before you chase down those
other symptoms, you should look to see if the root cause is with a
gut - based
issue.
I'm curious if you have
other tests that you like to run, if you go into specific order based on symptoms, and what your gold standard testing protocol would be if you want to really truly dig down into
issues that people experience with the
gut.
I'm still working on
other little health
issues still that have lingered, but they aren't specifically tied to
gut health so I felt I could come off GAPS and still do some healing through nutrition!
Besides increasing inflammation, they can trigger leaky
gut, insulin resistance, and
other issues that will eventually stall your fat loss as they sabotage your health.
Addressing just one aspect of the problem (blood sugar or insulin) ignores all the
other factors like poor diet, toxins, stress,
gut problems, immune

In essence, the

issue is you don't get enough vitamin D with the K2 ones but just make sure getting some really good K2 in your foods which fermented foods are gonna have a lot of K2 uhm — a healthy
gut bacteria makes some K2 and then also a healthy grass - fed butter or ghee are gonna be
other excellent sources of vitamin K2 as well.
And then when we start having
gut issues, then we can start having more leaky
gut, which then can create more immune stress, then we can have more malabsorption and low stomach acid and enzymes and nutrient deficiencies, which then affect neurotransmitters and
other hormone pathways.
And lastly, if you are still having a lot of trouble losing weight through diet and exercise, there could be
other issues such as hormones, insulin resistance,
gut issues, etc..
Of course, most men would rather avoid love handles, a beer
gut, or whatever you'd like to call that squishy excess around your midsection, but there are additional concerns — consider the many
other serious health
issues related to obesity, such as the following:

I do not have any joint
issues or any
other side effects, not even stomach pain from eating TONS of sundried tomatoes, eggplant and paprika at all, but since reading in this well written article that tomatoes are to be avoided by people with leaky
gut, I am at least cutting them out of my diet over the next couple months as I address this
issue.
Poor
gut health causes autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalance, mental illness, diabetes, weight gain, skin
issues and countless
other problematic conditions.
So while there is evidence suggesting depression could be an allergic reaction to internal irritation,
other studies suggest that supplementing with omega - 3 and curcumin (an extract from the spice turmeric) could ease
issues in the
gut in much the same way as NSAIDs.
