Director / writer Joseph Kosinski «s story (the script is credited to Karl Gadjusek and Michael DeBruyn, with William Monahan and Michael Arndt among those who worked on the
film too) cribs liberally from
other more familiar sci - fi tales, including one recent cult
hit which mentioning the name of would likely tip you off to the
film's big secrets.
But this is a
film with four - quadrant appeal that deserves to be seen by as many people who have attended
other hit live - action family
films, most of which aren't nearly this good.

It's too long and too overwrought in parts, but when you get to the final sequence and realise what he's constructed, it
hits you in the gut and the mind in a way that no
other film in the competition quite manages.
I was mildly surprised, the
other day, to realize that Batman Begins made almost exactly the same amount of money as Superman Returns — yet, the Batman
film is regarded as a huge
hit, while Superman Returns is regarded as a flop.

film directed by Christopher Landon and rated PG - 13 follows the success of Blumhouse's
other 2017
hits, «Get Out» and «Split».

It
hit the comedic mark in many moments and was not a rehash of
other films of this genre.
As daffy father Clark, Chase turned the

Final Verdict: Strong in places, weak in
others, Cuban Fury is a
hit and miss
film, but it does give Nick Frost the boost he needs to define himself as a comedy lead.
It's a feeling that, being a longtime
film reviewer myself, I can understand, as there are some movies that
hits you just right on certain days, when every
other day might have yielded less of an impact.

Like so many
other films hitting the big screen this year, from «Neighbors 2» to «Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,» «Bad Moms» isn't afraid to let its leading ladies prove that women can behave just as badly as men, and be funny as hell while doing it.
