in - law, asked me a couple of weeks ago if I had any ideas for some gluten - free dinners and so I've scoured the web for some delicious and relatively simple recipes from some of my favorite food
bloggers to help her and the many
others of you out there who can't or simply don't eat gluten.
Hellobee is not only a wonderful parenting blog, but it's also a flourishing community of
bloggers and
moms who help each
other and share
in the great journey of parenthood.
Christine is a regular on the speaking circuit (e.g., BlogHer,
Mom 2.0, BlissDom, Alt Summit, Massachusetts Conference for Women) and has been featured
in Boston Magazine, The Boston Globe, Woman's Day, Parents Magazine, National Public Radio, ABC News, Metro Boston, FOX 25 Boston, and
other fine media outlets; she has been named to Babble.com's Top 50
Mom Bloggers, Top 50 Twitter
Moms, and Top 30 Parenting Listserv lists.
But I have to say,
bloggers who perpetuate this idea, and who have contributed to creating this myth that
moms are «being
moms» when they are laughing with and cuddling with and playing with and enjoying their children, (and are, by logical extension, NOT «being
moms» when they are doing
other things) are doing a disservice,
in my opinion.
When I first started blogging, I found myself fitting
in, not with the
other mom bloggers, but with the fringe groups.
There's a fuzzy line between blogging and journalism, as many have discussed
in other contexts, and the
Mom Central model (what little I know about it) does seem like it could lead to some misleading posts, even if the
blogger has no intent to mislead.
This is why I love keeping
in touch with
mom friends and
other bloggers who have the experience!

Did you know you can have a lactation consultant, a doula, a midwife, your favorite
blogger, or another
mom going through exactly what you're going through sitting right across from you
in your living room every
other Thursday - without having to worry about picking up...
(I've yet to see a changing pad liner
in one of those dispensers — always empty
in the experience of at least one
other mom (
blogger The Waiting) too — you can often find near public changing stations).
When we came up with the idea of the UBP back
in 2007, we envisioned it as a party for
mom bloggers and
other women
bloggers.
You spend so much time online as a
blogger interacting with
other moms and dads and friends and so seeing each
other in real life is such a joy when you can swing it.
