other states that are considering linking
teacher evaluations to test scores (except as inducement to make sure their regulations correspond to their laws).
Proponents of coaching - based supervision contend that, when separated from
evaluation practices, coaching provides a «safe place» for
teachers to learn and practice
new skills and reflect on outcomes — while still drawing upon observation, feedback, and
other common supervisory practices (Joyce & Showers, 1982, p. 6).
While this approach contrasts starkly with status quo «principal walk - through» styles of class observation, its use is on the rise in
new and proposed
evaluation systems in which rigorous classroom observation is often combined with
other measures, such as
teacher value - added based on student test scores.

Still
other changes, such as more rigorous

evaluation was explicitly intended to assess Teach for America relative to all

I also argued (but this was unfortunately not highlighted in this particular article), that I could not find anything about the
New Mexico model's output (e.g., indicators of reliability or consistency in terms of
teachers» rankings over time, indicators of validity as per, for example, whether the state's value - added output correlated, or not, with the
other «multiple measures» used in
